Top Tip #1 - Plant Selection!

When it comes to selecting plants for your garden always think right plant right place don't just buy something that looks good in the garden centre and plant it anywhere.

Match the plants that thrive in certain conditions ie;- full sun / shade/dry wet areas/exposed or sheltered/ rich or poor soil you will be rewarded with the resulting healthy plants.

Top Tip #2 - Lawns!

Your lawn is probably the biggest single area in your garden and possibly gets the least attention, so if you use follow these simple secrets of success you too will have a great looking lawn.

  • Regular and correct mowing.
  • Feeding with a spring and summer lawn fertiliser.
  • Treating weeds and moss
  • Dealing with bare patches

Top Tip #3 - Pick those pots!

Have a selection of pots around your patio, that depending on the season can be filled with a selection of plants to add splashes of colour or scent or architechtural interest all year round.

Top Tip #4 - Lose your heads!

Throughout the year regularily spend a few minutes a day dead heading(removing the finished flowers} your flowers this will encourage them to produce more, and it will extend the flowering season.

Top Tip #5 - Feeding!

Don't forget to feed your garden on a regular basis, packet fertilisers are good and easy to apply, but ideally organic matter needs to be put into the soil to promote healthy root growth /water retention/minerals. You will only get good growth and stunning flower displays if the soil is looked after.
